Somewhere in the universe there is that mythical fountain that we can either drink from or bathe in (depending on your fairy tale), to magically transform us from old and wrinkled to young and beautiful. Unfortunately, no-one has yet discovered the fabled fountain of youth, so science has set to work finding a suitable alternative.

Those science people, they don't fool around. From lotions to lasers to surgeries, science has found plenty of ways to keep us looking young and fresh. The latest trend seems to be injections in the skin to plump up lips, wrinkles or even the cheeks.

There are different substances which can be used in these injections, but they all work under the same concept. The sunken area, such as the deep crease of a frown line, is injected with a substance which will push the skin up to level it out with the rest of the face. Much like adding padding or stuffing to a worn out chair cushion to fill in the sunken space and make it smooth again.

Many of the facial injections contain substances that you may not necessarily want under your skin. Remember, once it's in there, the only way out is through your blood stream, and not everything is made to be washed away like that. The inability of a foreign substance to break down properly is what leads to lumpiness and other problems from the treatments.

Restylane, however, has gained popularity due to the fact that its a natural substance that your body produces on its own anyway. While the version used in cosmetic procedures is man-made, it's still biodegradable. That means your body already knows how to break it down and wash it away.

Restylane injections can last from about six to twelve months before another injection is needed. This is a pretty long lifespan for a non-invasive and non-surgical procedure that will plump up your skin, and erase the look of aging.

So if you're one of the many curious consumers asking if restylane injections will make you look younger, the answer is an absolute yes! It most definitely will.
